Lahore Restores Pre-Partition Street Names Under Heritage Revival Project
Goa, May 20 -- A major heritage restoration initiative in Lahore is witnessing several streets and localities reverting to their historical pre-partition names as part of a broader urban revival programme.
Under the ongoing Lahore Heritage Area Revival project, areas such as Islampura have reportedly been renamed Krishan Nagar, while Babri Masjid Chowk has been restored to Jain Mandir Chowk and Rehman Gali renamed Ram Gali.
According to reports, at least nine locations in the city have undergone name changes over the past two months, with additional restorations expected in the near future.
