Goa, Sept. 18 -- A striking splash of colour is transforming the rugged landscape of Ladakh, where more than 25 lakh flowers have been planted across two expansive fields at Choglamsar and Stakna in Leh.

Set against the backdrop of Ladakh's stark, barren mountains, the flower fields cover nearly 40 acres and feature more than 24 lakh Liliums and one lakh Gladiolus in shades of yellow, white, orange and red.

The Flower Garden opened to the public on September 18, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the unusual sight at an altitude of around 10,600 feet.

Entry has been fixed at Rs 25 for adults and Rs 10 for children. The revenue generated through ticket sales will be used for the maintenance and upkeep of the gardens.
