Bicholim, July 14 -- A 45-year-old labourer has been arrested for allegedly attacking his neighbour with a knife following a drunken altercation at Kalamwada, Amona, in Bicholim on the night of July 12.

According to Bicholim police, the incident took place at around 10.15 pm when Prem Shankar Ram (32) was walking in the gallery outside his rented room after having dinner. His neighbour, Krishna Yadav (45), who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, picked up a quarrel with him.

Police said the accused abused and threatened to kill Prem Shankar before going to his room, returning with a knife and allegedly stabbing him on his left shoulder.
