Goa, July 4 -- Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal alleged that the BJP government is "spoiling Goa's future" by promoting development that, according to him, overlooks local interests and weakens self-governance. Speaking after organisational meetings with Congress leaders in the state, Venugopal claimed land was being "grabbed in the name of development" while local governing bodies were being bypassed. He expressed concern over the impact of such policies on Goa's identity, natural resources and democratic institutions. His remarks came as the Congress reviewed its organisational strategy and discussed key public issues ahead of future political campaigns.
