Goa, July 29 -- Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has said that the state government will hold consultations with senior advocates to address the remaining legal issues concerning the Mhadei project before deciding on the next course of action.

Speaking on the matter, Shivakumar said the government intends to obtain detailed legal advice on the pending issues and will take further steps only after the consultations are completed.

The Chief Minister's statement indicates that Karnataka is adopting a legal approach to resolve the outstanding matters related to the long-standing inter-state Mhadei water dispute before proceeding with the project.
