India, March 6 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday announced that the state government will prohibit children below the age of 16 from using social media platforms.
The announcement was made while the Chief Minister was presenting the state Budget in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
The move aims to address concerns related to the impact of social media on young users and to promote safer and more responsible digital engagement among children.
