Goa, June 15 -- The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Pernem has issued summons to 54 individuals, including Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai, in connection with the Mopa agitation case, directing them to appear before the court on June 15.

Taxi drivers and the other accused complied with the court's directive and appeared before the JMFC during the hearing. Following the proceedings, several taxi operators contended that the legal provisions invoked against them were unwarranted, asserting that their protest was aimed solely at protecting their livelihoods.
