Goa, Sept. 29 -- Councillor Jack Sukhija has called for an immediate stay on the tender process for the Santa Monica Jetty, raising concerns over the possible involvement of casino-linked interests.

Sukhija has demanded that the tender be scrapped, alleging that the process could result in a public asset being handed over to private entities for a period of 40 years.

He has also expressed concern that the tender could potentially facilitate access to the jetty for interests associated with the casino sector.
