Panaji, Sept. 16 -- Israeli national Yaniv Benaim, alias Atala, surrendered before the trial court at Merces in connection with a drug case following the directions of the High Court.

Atala had been missing since August 14, when his bail was cancelled in the case. Following the High Court's direction, he appeared before the trial court and surrendered.

The court proceedings are expected to determine the next course of action in the case. Further legal proceedings are underway.
