Goa, Sept. 14 -- Pakistan's hopes of reaching the World Test Championship (WTC) final have suffered another major blow after the International Cricket Council deducted 11 points from their tally for a slow over-rate in the third Test against England at Edgbaston.

Pakistan were already coming off a disastrous England tour, where they were swept 3-0 in the Test series. The latest sanction has pushed them further towards the bottom of the WTC standings and left their qualification hopes hanging by the thinnest of threads.

Pakistan now have only five points from nine Tests in the current WTC cycle, with a points percentage of 4.63. They sit ninth and last among the nine teams in the standings.
