Goa, July 20 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has described the intense pressure and security threats faced by Tehran's negotiating team during peace talks with the United States, saying they often feared they might not survive the discussions.

In an interview, Araghchi recalled a conversation with Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy, in which he highlighted the constant danger faced by Iranian officials.

"I asked Witkoff, have you ever been in a meeting where at any moment you think the whole meeting might be bombed? Have you ever been on the phone while you're talking, thinking you might be killed? Have you ever called your family believing it might be the last time?" Araghchi said.
