What made Nana Patekar stand out as an actor was his unwavering commitment to his craft. He had the rare ability to make audiences believe in the man on screen, in his ideology, his convictions and the world he inhabited. Born in 1951 in Maharashtra, Nana built a career spanning nearly five decades across Hindi and Marathi cinema, theatre and filmmaking. Known for his intense screen presence and powerful performances, he was equally adept at serious and comic roles. Nana Patekar, who died in Goa, leaves behind his wife and son.
