Goa, June 29 -- India's women's cricket team has officially secured qualification for the cricket competition at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games after the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed the qualification pathway for the sport's return to the Olympics.

Cricket will feature in the Olympics for the first time in more than a century, with six teams competing in both the men's and women's T20 tournaments. The ICC and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have finalised a qualification structure combining performances in ICC tournaments, T20I rankings and a new Olympic Qualifier scheduled for 2027.
