Goa, Sept. 22 -- India survived a major scare against Japan to secure a thrilling two-run victory in a rain-shortened T20 International at the Sano International Cricket Ground on Tuesday, September 22. The narrow win also gave India a historic milestone as they became the first team to register 200 victories in men's T20Is.

The match, which was reduced to five overs per side because of rain, was the first-ever men's T20I meeting between India and Japan. It was also played as part of the build-up to the 2026 Asian Games and marked 75 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
