India's WTC final hopes hit after Colombo draw
Goa, Aug. 27 -- India's hopes of reaching the World Test Championship (WTC) final have taken a hit after the second Test against Sri Lanka ended in a draw at the SSC in Colombo. India won the two-match series 1-0, but the result means they collected only 16 points from the Sri Lanka tour instead of the maximum 24.
India are now fifth in the WTC standings with 68 points and a points percentage (PCT) of 51.52%. With seven Tests still remaining, India face a difficult road ahead, with two Tests against New Zealand away from home followed by a five-Test home series against Australia.
