Goa, July 31 -- India on Friday accused Pakistan of using excessive and "ruthless" force against peaceful protesters in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), alleging that more than 40 civilians have been killed and several others seriously injured during the ongoing crackdown.

In a strongly worded statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) described the situation as deeply concerning and urged the international community to order an independent investigation into the reported killings. It also called for those responsible to be held accountable.
