Goa, Sept. 25 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a fresh spell of rain across several parts of India on Friday, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

Jharkhand has been placed under an orange alert for the next 24 hours, with Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, Simdega and West Singhbhum likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. A yellow alert has also been issued for 11 other districts.

In West Bengal, a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring heavy rainfall in several areas until Saturday morning. Very heavy showers are likely in Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalp...
