Goa, June 30 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded an Orange Alert for Goa on June 30 and July 1, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph across the state.

According to the latest weather advisory, both North Goa and South Goa are likely to witness intense spells of rain over the next two days, with strong surface winds expected to add to the adverse weather conditions. Residents have been urged to exercise caution, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas, and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall.
