IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall Alert Across Southern, Northeastern States
Goa, May 14 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several parts of the country, including southern and northeastern states, over the coming days. The weather agency has also shared an important update regarding the progress of the southwest monsoon, stating that conditions are becoming favourable for its further advancement.
According to the IMD, states such as Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and parts of South Karnataka are likely to witness heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds during the next four to five days.
