IMD forecasts heavy rain over eastern, central and southern India
Goa, Sept. 8 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning across several parts of India this week, with eastern, central, southern and north-western regions expected to see increased monsoon activity.
According to the IMD's latest forecast issued on Tuesday, isolated heavy rainfall is likely over East India during the next three to four days. The Andaman & Nicobar Islands, along with Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, are expected to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall between September 9 and 14.
