Goa, May 10 -- More than 20 candidates of Goan origin won seats in the recent UK local elections held on May 7, 2026, with results announced across Brent, Hounslow, Swindon, and Croydon councils, home to large Goan communities. Counting continued into Saturday, showcasing victories from Labour, Conservative, and other parties.
Labour's Angela Joyce D'Souza became the first Goan woman elected to Brent Council, securing Wembley Hill ward; she pledged action on safer streets, cleaner neighborhoods, and family support amid cost-of-living pressures. Conservative Floyd de Sa also won there.
