Goa, June 16 -- A highly decomposed body of a woman was found washed ashore at Aivavo Beach near Caranzalem on Tuesday, prompting an investigation by the Panaji Police.

Police personnel reached the spot after receiving information about the body and initiated the necessary preliminary procedures, including an inquest and efforts to establish the identity of the deceased.

According to initial information, investigators are examining whether the body could be linked to the reported case of a woman who allegedly jumped from the Mandovi bridge a few days ago. However, officials have not yet confirmed any connection between the two incidents.
