Goa, July 21 -- The Bombay High Court at Goa has ordered a major overhaul of the investigation into the alleged assault on advocate Ankur Kumar, directing that the case be taken away from the present investigating officer of Mandrem Police Station and handed over to an independent senior officer.

The Court directed the Superintendent of Police (North Goa) to immediately transfer the investigation to an experienced Police Inspector from another police station outside the Pernem subdivision. The newly appointed investigating officer will function under the direct supervision of the SP (North Goa).
