Goa, Oct. 29 -- The High Court has authorised the Superintendent of Colvale Central Jail to administer oaths and affirmations for bail affidavits, directing that the documents be processed within 24 hours to reduce delays faced by inmates.

The move aims to ease the difficulties experienced by prisoners in completing the formalities required for bail, particularly by reducing procedural delays, financial burdens and other hardships.

The directive is expected to make the process of submitting bail affidavits more accessible to inmates and help ensure that procedural requirements do not cause unnecessary delays in their bail proceedings.
