India, Feb. 25 -- The High Court has refused to grant interim relief to Nelson Francisco Cabral, the sitting Councillor of Ward No. 1 of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP), who had sought permission to file his nomination after the ward was newly reserved for Women (ST category).
Cabral had approached the court challenging the reservation status of the ward and requesting interim permission to contest the upcoming election. However, the court declined to grant immediate relief, effectively preventing him from filing his nomination under the revised reservation framework.
