Goa, Nov. 4 -- Businessman Agnelo Fernandes, who was served an electricity bill amounting to Rs 6 lakh, has received relief of Rs 3 lakh following intervention by Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar.

Fernandes had earlier raised several questions with the Electricity Department and sought clarification over the unusually high bill, expressing concern over the substantial amount charged.

The issue was highlighted by Dattaraj Dessai through Herald Media, following which Zilla Panchayat member Sidharth Dessai facilitated a meeting between Fernandes and Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar.

Following the meeting and subsequent intervention, Fernandes was granted a concession of Rs 3 lakh on the bill, bringing the outstanding amount down by half.
