VASCO, June 23 -- Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds late on Monday night uprooted several trees across Vasco and Mangor, disrupting power supply and causing inconvenience to residents in multiple localities.

According to officials, some of the fallen trees crashed onto electricity lines, prompting authorities to shut down transformers as a precautionary measure. The damage resulted in widespread power outages, leaving many households without electricity throughout the night.

On Tuesday morning, former city councillor Shammi Salkar visited various affected locations and coordinated with personnel from the Electricity Department and Fire and Emergency Services to expedite the removal of fallen trees and restoration work.
