Goa, July 21 -- Heavy police deployment was witnessed near Raj Bhavan in Goa ahead of a protest called by the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee over the detention of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. The Congress urged party workers and supporters to assemble at Dona Paula Circle before proceeding with the demonstration. The party termed Rahul Gandhi's detention an attack on democracy and appealed to the public to join the protest in large numbers. Security personnel were deployed across the area to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents during the scheduled demonstration.
