India, March 23 -- The High Court has quashed an FIR linked to an alleged beef-related incident in Goa, observing that the legal action taken in the case was unjustified. The matter stemmed from an incident in the Anjuna-Mapusa belt, where a group reportedly entered private premises suspecting illegal beef activity.
Advocate Carlos Ferreira, representing the petitioner, argued that the complaint failed to mention any offence such as illegal slaughter or sale of beef-key elements required under the law. He further stated that the meat seized during the incident was later confirmed to be buffalo meat, weakening the basis of the allegations.
