Goa, Oct. 29 -- A 31-year-old man was allegedly tied to a tamarind tree and beaten to death over a relationship in Gujarat's Mehsana district, police said. The incident took place in Thangana village in Kheralu taluka.

The victim, identified as Ranjeetji Chaturji Thakor, was a resident of Wagharol village in Sidhpur taluka and worked as a credit manager at Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company.

According to the complaint filed by his father, Ranjeetji had been in a relationship with a woman from Thangana village for around two years.

He left home on his motorcycle for work on Tuesday. The following day, his family learnt that he had gone to meet the woman and was allegedly caught by her family members.
