GPCC President Girish Chodankar Demands Withdrawal of Compulsory Yoga Day Attendance Circular
Goa, June 20 -- Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has strongly objected to the circular issued by the Directorate of Education mandating attendance of students and teachers at International Yoga Day programmes on a Sunday, stating that such directives infringe upon personal freedom, family time, and religious rights.
Girish Chodankar said that while Yoga is an ancient practice that promotes physical and mental well-being and is appreciated by millions across the world, participation in Yoga activities must remain a matter of personal choice and conviction. It should never be transformed into a compulsory obligation by the Government.
