Goa, July 9 -- The long-pend ing redevelopment of Mar gao's Gandhi Market is set to move forward, with PWD Minister Digambar Kamat announcing that the State Government will appoint a consultant to prepare a comprehensive master plan to upgrade the market and address its long-stand ing civic issues. The decision comes amid concerns over waterlog ging inside the market and flooding in nearby resi dential areas during the monsoon.

Kamat, accom panied by Margao Munici pal Council Administrator Srinet Kothwale, inspected the market after residents complained that rainwater from the market was enter ing their homes.
