Goa, May 10 -- Candidates of Goan origin emerged among the standout performers in the 2025 United Kingdom council elections, securing important victories across boroughs such as Brent, Hounslow, Croydon and Swindon. The results once again highlighted the growing political influence of the Goan diaspora in British local governance.
The council elections, held on Thursday with counting continuing through Friday and Saturday, saw several Goan-origin representatives from Labour and Conservative parties win seats across different councils in the UK.
