Goa, Aug. 23 -- Goan Konkani rapper, lyricist and artist Amit Jaiwant Naik, popularly known as Waking Grunt, has achieved a major milestone for regional Indian hip-hop after being selected as a Voting Member of the Recording Academy, the organisation behind the prestigious GRAMMY Awards.

The Recording Academy is one of the world's leading organisations representing music creators and professionals and is best known for presenting the GRAMMY Awards, among the music industry's most prestigious honours.

As a Voting Member, Waking Grunt will be eligible to participate in the Grammy Awards voting process, including submitting eligible work for consideration, evaluating entries and voting on nominees and winners across various categories.
