Goa, June 26 -- The Goa Water Metro project has entered Phase One implementation on a priority basis, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal announced.

The Minister said the decision was taken following a request from Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and in response to the aspirations of the people of Goa for an improved and sustainable water-based public transport system.

The Phase One rollout marks a significant step towards the implementation of the ambitious Water Metro project, which is expected to enhance connectivity through Goa's inland waterways while offering an environmentally friendly mode of transport.
