GOA TO STRENGTHEN TURTLE CONSERVATION WITH MORJIM BEACH NOTIFICATION
Goa, June 14 -- Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane has announced that Morjim Beach will soon be officially notified as a turtle nesting site, a move aimed at strengthening wildlife conservation efforts in Goa. The minister said the decision would help provide greater protection to nesting turtles and preserve the beach's ecological importance.
Rane also revealed plans to propose nearly 10 square kilometres of land in Salcete for conversion into a No Development Zone (NDZ). According to him, the proposal follows requests received from several village panchayats seeking stronger environmental safeguards.
