Goa, Oct. 30 -- Tribal leaders and community representatives have expressed strong displeasure over the delay in implementing political reservation for Scheduled Tribes (STs) in Goa, following the Bombay High Court's stay on the notification relating to estimated ST population figures.

Addressing a press conference, the leaders alleged that deliberate legal and administrative delays were preventing the community from securing its constitutional right to political representation ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.

They also highlighted unfulfilled assurances and recalled the community's past struggles for political representation, stating that continued delays were unacceptable.
