Goa, Sept. 2 -- Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said Goa's smart-meter rollout is currently on hold but maintained that the State will eventually have to implement the system as it is mandatory.
Dhavalikar said Rs.32 crore collected from consumers has already been reimbursed, while urging consumers to consider solar power as a way to reduce their electricity bills.
According to the Minister, Goa has so far generated 103 MW of solar energy. He encouraged consumers to adopt solar power to help lower their dependence on conventional electricity and reduce monthly expenses.
