Across Goa, there are buildings that have been declared unsafe by the very authorities tasked with protecting the public. Demolition orders have been issued. Disaster laws have been invoked - and yet, even today, people continue to walk into structures officially classified as death traps, completely unaware that the ceiling above them could collapse at any moment.
Several such buildings, formally deemed structurally hazardous, continue to house active commercial establishments. Inside, business goes on. Customers walk in. Staff report for work. And the walls - unmaintained and unaudited for years - continue their slow, invisible deterioration.
