Goa, May 26 -- Evan Telles has made India and Goa proud with a remarkable performance at the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2026 held in Sri Lanka from May 17 to May 25, 2026.

The young chess prodigy emerged as the Under-7 National Champion and delivered an outstanding display on the international stage, securing multiple accolades in the Under-8 category.

Evan won the Gold Medal in the Rapid U-8 event and claimed the Silver Medal in the Blitz U-8 category. He also secured an impressive 5th rank in the Standard U-8 format.

The achievement has been hailed as a proud moment for both India and Goa, with many congratulating the young talent for his exceptional success and dedication to the sport.
