Goa, July 3 -- Goa's private engineering colleges are grappling with a deep ening admission crisis, with nearly 475 seats remaining vacant after the first round of admissions, ex posing structural problems that ed ucators say cannot be solved merely by relaxing eligibility norms. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), in an attempt to arrest falling admissions, has eased the mandatory JEE-Main el igibility requirement for engineer ing admissions this year.
