Goa, April 10 -- The All Goa Road Contractors Association has raised serious concerns over the sharp increase in the cost of road construction materials, particularly tar, attributing the surge to ongoing global conflicts.

Addressing the media, the association revealed that the price of tar has escalated significantly from Rs.51,000 per tonne to Rs.83,000 per tonne, placing a heavy financial strain on contractors. As a result of the steep rise, several contractors have reportedly halted road construction works across the state.
