India, March 18 -- In a first for Goa, Anjuna Police have secured a full trial conviction under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, marking a significant legal milestone in the state.
The accused, Sarvesh Govekar, was found guilty of offences including stalking, armed trespass, and criminal intimidation. The court sentenced him to three years of imprisonment along with fines under relevant provisions of the new law.
