Goa Receives Widespread Rainfall; Ponda Records Highest 24-Hour Rainfall of 60 mm
Goa, June 27 -- Goa witnessed widespread rainfall over the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am on June 27, with Ponda recording the highest rainfall at 60 mm, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre, Goa.
Among other stations, Canacona received 22.4 mm, Pernem 21.2 mm, Margao 16.2 mm, Panaji 15.4 mm, and Ela (Old Goa) 15 mm. Moderate rainfall was also reported from Mormugao, Dabolim, Dharbandora, Quepem, Sanguem, Sanquelim, Valpoi, and Mapusa.
The IMD classified the rainfall distribution across Goa as "widespread (most places)", while monsoon activity over the state was categorised as weak for the period.
