Goa Rainfall Update: Quepem Records Highest Rainfall in 24 Hours, Canacona Nears 1,000 mm Seasonal Mark
Goa, June 29 -- Goa witnessed widespread rainfall over the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 a.m. on June 29, 2026, with Quepem recording the highest rainfall at 90 mm, closely followed by Canacona (89.6 mm) and Ponda (85 mm), according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD stated that monsoon activity across the state remained normal, with rainfall reported from most parts of Goa. Canacona also continued to lead the seasonal rainfall chart, recording 986.8 mm since the onset of the southwest monsoon on June 1.
Among other regions, Margao received 77 mm, Dharbandora 78.2 mm, Dabolim 54.2 mm, and Mormugao 49.6 mm during the reporting period. Ela (Old Goa) recorded the lowest rainfall at 24 mm.
