Goa, July 3 -- The Saligao Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with an alleged Rs.30 lakh property fraud after a resident of Sangolda accused a person of cheating him in a land transaction.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly misrepresented a property located in Pilgao as being free from encumbrances, despite it reportedly being mortgaged and involved in an ongoing legal dispute.

The complainant further alleged that after accepting a token amount of Rs.30 lakh, the accused neither executed the sale deed nor refunded the money, resulting in financial loss.
