Goa, Sept. 1 -- Goa is gearing up to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with Catholic communities across the state preparing for the Marian feast through prayer, devotion and family celebrations.

Novenas are already underway in churches and chapels in different parts of Goa as the faithful prepare for the feast with renewed devotion to Mother Mary. For many Catholic families, the novena is also an occasion to welcome an image of Mother Mary into their homes, bringing family members together in prayer and seeking her maternal protection.
