Goa, Oct. 3 -- Goa's Director of Official Languages, Meghanath P. Porob, has been appointed to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) through promotion.

The appointment has been made to the Joint AGMUT Cadre under the Select List of 2024, according to a notification issued by the Central Government and forwarded by the Goa Government.

Porob's induction into the IAS marks a significant step in his administrative career. He has been serving as Goa's Director of Official Languages, overseeing matters related to the state's official language administration.

The promotion follows the Centre's approval of appointments from the Select List for 2024.
