Goa, Oct. 27 -- The Goa government must purchase its own harvesting machines and provide them to farmers at reasonable rates instead of depending on equipment brought in from outside the State. Farmers continue to cultivate their fields despite suffering losses due to various reasons and deserve full government support. Barde highlighted the growing shortage of agricultural labourers, saying workers were no longer available as they were in the past, making mechanisation essential to support the farming community.
