Goa, June 4 -- The Goa Town and Country Planning (TCP) Board has proposed designating more than 42.09 lakh square metres of land across the state as No Development Zone (NDZ) or Non-Developable Area. According to an Official Gazette notification issued on June 4, 2026, the proposal covers several environmentally sensitive regions, including Guirim, Cavelossim, Benaulim, Shiroda-linked areas and Tiracol.

The total area identified for protection stands at approximately 42,09,301.97 square metres. Benaulim in Salcete accounts for the largest share with nearly 12.4 lakh square metres, followed by Shiroda-linked villages with around 8.87 lakh square metres.
